Impact of the incarceration on the family

I feel that had we stayed on the farm, my father would have been healthier and had a better quality of life. He was an entrepreneur in his early years. Both my parents worked hard and achieved much to have it all suddenly taken away. My father worked until he was at least 75 and my mother worked until she was almost 70 years old in the garment industry sewing in Winnipeg. My sister and I would have loved to go to university but the family needed us to work after high school.
